For the duration of the spell, the target gains the ability to consume and digest any non-magical object or liquid they can fit in their mouth. They can bite and chew the object as if it had, at most, the consistency of taffy or hard candy. Each different type of object or liquid they consume has a unique flavor and texture that is palatable to their tastes.
They can chew and attempt to swallow an object as a bonus action. If the object is as small as a pill or softer than stone, they swallow it. Otherwise, they make a strength check against the object’s AC -1 for each previous attempt. If they succeed, they swallow it, otherwise they keep chewing. While their mouth is full, they can't cast spells that have a verbal component.
The target doesn’t take acid, bludgeoning, cold, fire, necrotic, piercing, poison, or slashing damage from anything they are consuming or digesting with this spell. If consuming the object or liquid would normally have an effect on the target, it doesn’t.
When the spell ends, any object that has been swallowed transforms into an equivalent amount of rations and any liquid that has been swallowed transforms into an equivalent amount of water. Any object or liquid that has not been swallowed returns to the state it was in before the spell was cast.
