You touch two willing creatures within range, facilitating the transfer of one creature's consciousness into the other. The creature being transferred into the other's body is referred to as the possessor, while the creature whose body is being overtaken is referred to as the host.
While the spell is in effect, the body of the possessor falls into a deep unconsciousness, indistinguishable from death. The possessor gains control over the host's body, able to utilize its abilities, features, and spells, but unable to use its own. The possessor retains their Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores while inhabiting the host's body.
During this time, the host remains aware of their surroundings but is unable to act or control their body. At the start of the possessor's turn, the host may attempt to regain control by making a Charisma saving throw. If successful, the possessor is expelled from their body and returns to its own no longer unconscious, and the spell ends early. If a spell or affect targeting a creatures mind is afflicting the possessor is affecting it as the spell ends, the effect is transferred to it when it returns to its body.
