The next time you hit a creature with a weapon attack before this spell ends, the weapon glows sickly green  as you strike. The attack deals an extra 2d6 poison damage to the target, and on the hit the target must make a Constitution Saving Throw. On a failure the target suffers the Poisoned Condition, and at the start of the creature's turn they take an additional 1d6 poison damage. The target can repeat the CON save at the end of their turn to shrug off the effects and persistent damage of the Smite. On a successful save the creature isn't poisoned and only takes half of the additional 1d6 poison once at the start of their next turn.
