You create a small spark of arcane energy and launch it at a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 lightning damage.

At higher levels: When you reach 5th level, the damage increases to 2d8. At 11th level, the damage increases to 3d8.
