You attempt to shield a creature from the effects of a targeted spell, disrupting and negating its harmful magic. When you see a creature within range being targeted by a spell, you can use your reaction to cast this spell. If the spell targeting the creature is of 3nd level or lower, it doesn't effect the targeted creature (if the hostile spell targets several creatures, only the creature you shield will be unaffected). If the hostile spell is of 3th level or higher, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. On a success, the creature you targeted is shielded and the hostile spell has no effect on them.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3th level or higher, the interrupted spell has no effect on the shielded creature if its level is less than or equal to the level of the spell slot you used.

Posted Apr 18, 2024So I basically thought of a type of minor counterspell befitting Clerics (and Paladins). It doesn't pack the same punch, but that's because these class normally shouldn't gain access to counterspell. It's still useful, and I think the level fits it's lower power.
