You make a melee spell attack against one creature, black sparks radiate from your weapon as you apply mana at the exact moment of contact, creating the perfect hostile mana transfer. If the attack hits, the creature takes 3d8 force damage, and for the duration, you add your spellcasting ability modifier as an additional bonus to attack and damage rolls made with melee weapons.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
