You create a wall of writhing and cold ethereal shadow and darkness. The wall appears within range on a solid surface and lasts for the duration. You choose to make the wall up to 60 feet long, 10 feet high, and 5 feet thick or a circle that has a 20-foot diameter and is up to 20 feet high and 5 feet thick. The wall is opaque and blocks line of sight.
When the wall appears, each creature within its area must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 3d8 psychic damage and is blinded until the start of its next turn. One a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and is not blinded.
One side of the wall, selected by you when you cast this spell, deals 3d8 psychic damage to each creature that ends its turn within 10 feet of that side of the wall or inside the wall. Additionally, if a creature ends its turn inside the wall, that creature must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, the creature is pushed 5 feet out and away from the wall to the nearest unoccupied space and becomes frightened of the wall. A creature frightened by this spell is affected until the end of its next turn.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 4th.
