You hurl a globe of magical acid that explodes at a point you can see within 120 feet of it. Each creature in a 20-foot radius centered at a point must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 6d6 acid damage.
On contact, the globe explodes, covering the terrain with caustic acid for 1d4 turns. When a creature enters the spell's area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, they take 1d6 acid damage and nonmagical armor worn by the target is partly dissolved and takes a permanent and cumulative −1 penalty to the AC it offers. The armor is destroyed if the penalty reduces its AC to 10.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.
