Upon casting Altisax's Mortifying Mist, a swirling mist envelops a 30-foot radius centered on you. Each creature in the mist must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be affected by the mist’s magic.
Affected creatures must roll a d100 and consult the Mist of Madness Table below to determine the effect they suffer. If a creature rolls exactly 100, the perceived effect or compulsion becomes real and permanent, this may cause hallucinations to manifest as real creatures or effects. They must reroll on the d100 to determine the effect.
The caster is immune to the effects of Altisax's Mortifying Mist. A strong wind, or any effect that can disperse fog, will dissipate the mist and end the spell.
Mist of Madness Table:
1-25: Short-term madness
26-49: Long-term madness
50-64: The creature enters a frenzy, attacking the nearest creature.
65-74: The target is overcome with fear and drops anything it is holding, then flees.
75-84: Indefinite madness
85-99: The creature turns on itself, dealing damage as if it had hit itself with a melee attack.
100: Reroll on the Mist of Madness Table. The effect becomes permanent, and any madness suffered becomes real, this may cause hallucinations to manifest as real creatures or effects.
