When you cast Altisax’s Biorhythm, you begin by holding the heart of a medium-sized creature in your hands. With a deep focus on the cycle of life and death, you chant the incantation, feeling the pulse of necromantic energy coursing through your veins. As you release the spell, the heart disintegrates, and a surge of ethereal worms emerges, swarming around you in a grotesque yet mesmerizing dance. The worms, visible only to you, burrow into your flesh painlessly, their presence a macabre comfort as they stand ready to mend your wounds and pull you back from the brink of death. The air around you thickens with the power of the necromancy, a tangible reminder of the thin line between life and demise that you now tread.
When you cast Altisax’s Biorhythm, the consumed heart pulses with necrotic energy, releasing a swarm of ethereal worms that envelop the target. For the duration of the spell, these worms knit together it's wounds, healing it for 1d4 hit points at the start of each of your turns.
If the target is reduced to 0 hit points while the spell is active, the worms immediately stabilize it, and it regains consciousness with 1 hit point. This miraculous recovery leaves the creature drained, if able, it suffers 1 level of exhaustion. However, the spell’s healing ceases to function once it is stabilized in this way.
The spell’s healing effect is necrotic in nature and can restore undead as well.
