A surge of energy courses from your heart to your fingertip as lightning leaps forth towards one creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 lightning damage, should you wish the lightning then leaps from this target to a second within 5 feet of the first. Make a second ranged spell attack. On a hit, the target takes 1d4 lightning damage. 
The spells damage increases by 1d8 and 1d4 when you reach 5th level (2d8 and 2d4), 11th level, (3d8 and 3d4), and 17th level (4d8 and 4d4).
