You tap into the raw power of blood vines and channel it through the element of fire, creating a devastating surge of flaming vegetation that engulfs your enemies.
As you cast this spell, you summon blood vine essence, infusing it with intense heat and flames. Choose a creature within range that you can see. Make a ranged spell attack against that creature. On a hit, the target takes 4d6 fire damage and an additional 2d6 necrotic damage as the burning vines sear their flesh.
Additionally, any creature within a 10-foot radius of the targeted creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, they take half of the initial fire damage as the flames lash out towards them.
If there are any natural or flammable objects within each of the affected creature's spaces, they catch fire and take an additional 1d6 fire damage at the start of each of their turns until the flames are extinguished. A creature can take an action to attempt to extinguish the fire.
When you cast this spell using higher-level spell slots, the initial fire and necrotic damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 4th.
