You spill a drop of your own blood onto the ground, calling forth the power of nature's fury. The area around you becomes a thicket of razor-sharp thorns and twisted branches as plant life quickly explodes in a frenzy of growth and aggression.
For the duration of the spell, the following effects are in place:
- Plants within 30-foot radius grow rapidly until they become overgrown and unmanageable, causing the area to become difficult terrain for all creatures other than you. Any non-magical plants that die within the area during the duration of this spell become overgrown and tangled in the underbrush, becoming impassable terrain.
- Any creature entering the area or starting its turn in the area takes 4d8 piercing damage and must make a Dexterity saving throw or have their movement speed reduced by half until they leave the area.
- You can communicate with plants and they become friendly to you for the duration of the spell. They will share information with you about what they have observed in their area, but cannot provide information on anything beyond their immediate vicinity.
- You can command plants within the area as long as they are not already hostile to you. You can instruct them to attack creatures, grab items, or manipulate surroundings as if they were your loyal servants. Beware, however, as some plants may be more temperamental than others.
- In addition, the blood used to cast this spell attracts nearby predators. Any creatures nearby can sense the scent of your blood and will be drawn towards the area, becoming hostile if provoked.
When you cast this spell using a 9th level spell slot, the damage inflicted by the thorns increases to 6d8 piercing damage.
