When you are targeted by an attack or spell from a creature you can see within range you can use your reaction to attempt to send that creature to the Ethereal Plane, potentially saving you from that attack or spell. This spell has no effect and the spell slot wasted if the creature is already on the Ethereal Plane. The targeted creature must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or be immediately teleported to the Ethereal Plane as will any projectile weapon, ammunition or effect made as part of the attack or spell you are reacting to. At the start of the creature's next turn the creature, but not the projectile if there was one, is returned to the plane and space the creature was in when you cast the spell. If that space is now occupied the creature is shunted to the nearest unoccupied space and takes force damage equal to the amount of feet it was shunted.
While on the Ethereal Plane, the creature can see and hear the plane it originated from, which is cast in shades of gray, and it can't see anything there more than 60 feet away. It can only affect and be affected by other creatures on the Ethereal Plane. Creatures that aren't there can't perceive it or interact with it, unless they have the ability to do so.
Once a creature has failed to resist this spell and then returned from the Ethereal Plane that creature is immune to further castings of this spell for 1 minute.
