You point to an empty space that you can see in range and cause a single tendril of water to form. When you cast the spell, you can make a melee spell attack against a creature within 5ft of the appendages. On a hit, the target creature takes 2d6 bludgeoning damage and if the target is medium or smaller it is grappled. The escape DC of the Grapple is equal to 8 + spell casting modifier

On the following turns, if a creature is grappled by your appendage you can use your bonus action to deal the spell damage again to the grappled creature. Otherwise, you can use your bonus action to reform the appendage up to 20ft away from its current position to a space you can see and repeat the attack against the creature within 5ft of it.
