You drink a mystical concoction, and expel an acidic bile that can melt through solid steel. Each creature in a 30-foot cone must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 9d6 acid damage on a failed save and is covered in acid. On a successful initial save, a creature takes half as much damage and is not covered in acid.  At the start of a creature’s turn while covered in acid, they suffer a cumulative -1 penalty to their armor class for every turn they have been covered in acid by this spell, and they take 2d6 acid damage at the start of their turn. The armor class penalty is doubled if the target is wearing metal armor. At the end of a creature covered in acid’s turn, it can make a Dexterity saving throw, ending these effects on a success.

If you target a metal creature or object, it makes the saving throw with disadvantage, and the spell deals maximum damage to it.

A creature killed by this spell melts to a puddle along with all of their nonmagical equipment.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the initial damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 6th.
