You ignite yourself with an immense, fiery explosion that deals devastating damage to all creatures around you, including yourself.
As you concentrate on this spell, you cannot take actions, or reactions, and you may not willingly interrupt your concentration on this spell. If your concentration is broken, the spell does not take effect, but the spell slot is consumed. This spell's effect occurs at the start of your next turn if your concentration is not broken, causing you to take 100 fire damage. This spell ignores resistance to fire damage and treats immunity to fire damage as resistance.
Except creatures within 10 feet of you, all creatures within 150 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw, taking 10d10 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.
Additionally, creatures take more damage the closer they are to you:
- Within 90 feet, an additional 25 fire damage.
- Within 45 feet, an additional 50 fire damage.
- Within 20 feet, an additional 75 fire damage.
Creatures within 10 feet of you do not roll the saving throw and take an additional 100 + 10d10 fire damage.
A creature that takes 100 fire damage or more from this spell is Blinded until a Greater Restoration or Heal spell is cast to restore its vision. Additionally, a creature reduced to 0 hit points by this spell is turned to ashes and may only be brought back by a Wish or True Resurrection spell.
After the spell's effect takes place, your current and maximum level is permanently reduced by 1 and you may never again cast 9th-level spells. This cannot be prevented or reversed in any way.

Posted May 26, 2024Just a clarification here, if the spell goes off, the caster takes a total of 200+10d10 fire damage, correct?
100 damage for the spell's concentration not being broken "This spell's effect occurs at the start of your next turn if your concentration is not broken, causing you to take 100 fire damage.", and then an additional 100+10d10 from the expanding fireball "Creatures within 10 feet of you do not roll the saving throw and take an additional 100 + 10d10 fire damage." as the caster is technically a creature within 10 feet of itself, and the spell affects all creatures "devastating damage to all creatures around you, including yourself.", correct?
