Astra's Electric Ruin

Crafted by a Bloodthirsty Cleric who once aspired to embrace the path of peace, only to succumb to the allure of violence.

You summon the power of lightning to launch a precise and devastating bolt of electrical energy at a target within range. The bolt can arc to multiple targets, unleashing a chain of electric ruin.

Attack Roll: Make a ranged spell attack against a target within range. On a hit, the target takes 3d10 lightning damage. The bolt then arcs to up to two additional targets of your choice within 30 feet of the original target, making a separate attack roll for each new target. Each additional target takes 3d10 lightning damage on a hit.

Special Effects:

• Chain Reaction: If the initial target fails a Constitution saving throw, they are stunned until the end of their next turn. Each subsequent target hit by the arcing bolt must also make a Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of their next turn. For each failed saving throw, the stun duration is extended by 1 turn. However if a target succeeds on its Constitution saving throw, it is not stunned and breaks free from the stun effect.
• Lightning Jump: If an additional target is within 30 feet of the previous one, the bolt continues to arc, potentially affecting up to three targets total. Each arc must hit a different creature, and the chain cannot target the same creature more than once.
• Piercing Thunder: When you score a critical hit with this spell, the target takes additional lightning damage equal to half the spell's initial damage (rounded down).

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage for each bolt increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 5th.
