You tear open a rift in space, creating a portal that connects your current location to another location within 500 feet. The portal is a circular, shimmering void with a 10-foot radius, and it remains open for the duration or until you dismiss it as a bonus action.
The Void Gate functions as follows:
-
Instantaneous Travel: As a bonus action, you can step into the Void Gate and instantly reappear at an unoccupied space of your choice within 500 feet that you can see, or know about. Each time you or a creature you designate steps into the portal, the rift momentarily closes behind you before reopening.
-
Dimensional Anchor: Any creature that attempts to teleport or use interplanar travel within 30 feet of the Void Gate must make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the teleportation or interplanar travel attempt fails, and the creature takes 4d6 force damage.
-
Defensive Void: You can choose to let the portal absorb up to 50 points of incoming damage from spells or attacks directed at you or any ally within 10 feet of the portal. The portal absorbs the damage until it is depleted or the spell ends.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the range of the portal increases by 100 feet for each slot level above 5th.
