Choose a creature you can see or otherwise sense within range. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, you form a tenuous link to its surface feelings and immediate thoughts; you can read its immediate emotional state and fleeting surface impressions. You can also inflame a single strong emotion of your choice—anger, uncertainty, sadness, joy, disgust, shock, trust, anticipation, shame, lust, pity, or another emotion. The DM determines how, if at all, the target’s behaviour is influenced by that surge.
Alternatively, you can choose for the target to be charmed, frightened, or to become hostile toward one creature of your choice that it can see or hear until the spell ends.
On a successful save, the creature senses a magical influence brushing its mind, but doesn’t learn the source.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can target two additional creatures for each slot level above 1st. The creatures must be within 60 feet of each other when you target them.
