Humbly request some guidance from the local forest spirits as you forage in the area. They can sense your earnest connection to wooded lands, and agree to help. As you forage, the spirits guide your intuition and help you find plenty of food and water. They will also guide you to useful items if they can. You may be able to find such things as medicinal plants, rare mushrooms, a cache of empty glass bottles, or an abandoned tool shed or herbalist's shack. Even deep in the woods, the spirits know of things long forgotten, paths that have gone untrod. They may have long awaited they day they could rid their forest of these man-made things.

Coming from a long line of wood-folk, you have a keen eye for yew trees and tall, strait ash saplings. You've made a good handful of coin over the years by selling good wood for weapons, wands and tools to the artisans in town.

In any wooded area:

  • Foraging for 4 hours yields 1 day's supply of edible food and clean water for 5 people.
  • Casting this cantrip counts as your action, if your DM determines you would use an action to forage
  • Once per day you can find goods, materials, ingredients, etc. worth 5 sp - 5 gp, as determined by your DM. The party can decide whether to keep the items or try to sell them later.
  • All party members participating in the foraging have advantage against being surprised or setting off a non-magical trap for the duration of the spell.
