You create a perfect recording of events occurring as you see them, capturing them as moving images on the material component. As you cast this spell, you must focus on the scene you wish to record, maintaining full concentration for the duration. You cannot move during this time, although you may be transported in a smooth-traveling vehicle. The jostling of horseback riding or any other form of mounted travel will break your concentration and end the spell prematurely.
To replay the recorded events, the same or a different caster must recast this spell, using the same material component. The recorded moving images are lifelike but the quality is influenced by the material component used. The replayed image covers only a small 1 foot square at most, making fine details difficult to discern.
(This spell was adapted to 5e from the 2nd edition book: Maztica Campaign Set by Douglas Niles)
