You point a jolt of electricity at a Medium or smaller creature or object in range made of metal and yank it towards you with magnetism. If the target is a creature or an item held or worn by a creature, that creature must make a Strength saving throw or suffer 3d8 lightning damage and the additional effect specific to the target below. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and does not suffer the additional effect. Nonmetallic targets take the lightning damage, but are not moved.
Metal creature (or worn metal object). On a failed save, a metal creature or a creature wearing metal armor is pulled up to 15 feet closer to you and cannot take a reaction until their next turn. If this moves the creature to within 5 ft. of you, they take an additional 2d8 lightning damage.
Metal object in hand. On a failed save, the metal object is pulled from the creature's possession and immediately flies to you. If you have a hand free, you can catch the object. Otherwise it falls to the ground in your space.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the base damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd.
