Azrael's Smite

This spell may only be cast using a Lantern of Loss as the focus. As an additional cost to cast this spell, you must expend a number of souls equal to the level this spell is being cast at. The first time you hit with a melee weapon attack during this spell’s duration, your weapon becomes wreathed in Azraels Black Flame, conjured from the Shadow Weave, and the attack deals an extra 2d6 force damage to the target. Additionally, if the target is a creature, it must succeed on a Charisma saving throw or suffer the Devoid condition until the start of your next turn. This spell cannot be counterspelled using Mystra's weave using a spell slot of a lower level than the level this spell was cast at. At higher levels, this attack does 1d6 additional force damage for every level above 1st.
