This ritual calls upon the divine force of the Goddess of Winter to bring a cold headwind to your location and your location becomes the epicenter of the storm. In a 5‐mile radius around you the temperature decreases by 2d10 + 30 degrees, snow begins to blanket the area at a rate of 2 feet per hour, and a howling wind sets in. Anyone in the area suffers the following consequences:

  • Travel pace is cut in half and the party must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom (survival) check once per hour or become lost.
  • Hearing range is limited to 100 feet and Wisdom (perception) checks that rely on hearing are made at disadvantage.
  • Open flames are extinguished within 1d4 minutes.
  • Ranged weapon attacks are made at disadvantage.
  • Visibility is decreased to 30 feet and Wisdom (perception) checks that rely on sight are made at disadvantage.
  • Anyone exposed to the cold must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw at the end of each hour or gain 1 level of exhaustion.

These conditions persist for 2d4 hours.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using an 8th level spell slot the range increases to 15 miles and the temperature decrease is 3d10 + 30 degrees.
