Chains of Soul-Binding

Chains of Soul-Binding is an incredibly powerful curse that places the target in a permanent state of undeath. Ghostly chains spring forth from the heart of the target and wrap tightly around the body, trapping and binding the target’s soul to the caster’s soul cage. These chains can only be detected by a cleric of the life or death domain and are only visible on the body of the target. Once detected, the chains remain visible to everyone else. Once casted, the target falls into a coma-like state and has no senses of their surroundings. The target becomes immune to all types of damage (nonmagical or magical), will not age or be affected by illness or disease whether present before the curse or after.

This spell cannot be removed except by a wish spell or if the soul cage is destroyed. The caster can dispel the curse at any time from any location by using the soul cage at which point the target’s soul will be consumed by the caster and cannot be recovered. Any spell’s that normally nullify curse effects like Remove Curse or Greater Restoration cannot remove or alter the effects of the curse.
