A favorite spell of the wizard Bèr Nölmien, the Fire Rain of Bèr conjures a devastating downpour of fiery embers over a designated area. This spell is a signature of Nölmien's creativity, combining aspects of traditional fire magic with an element of sustained, focused destruction.
You choose a point within range. A 20-foot radius, 40-foot high cylinder of searing embers fall down in the area. The area is lightly obscured and radiates intense heat. Each creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 2d8 bludgeoning damage and 5d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.The area becomes difficult terrain as the ground sizzles and cracks under the intense heat. Nonmagical flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried ignite.
At Higher Levels:
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the bludgeoning damage increase by 1d8 for each slot level above 4th.
