When you touch a spot on a creature that exudes pain, the pain will be slowly alleviated. Depending on the level of injury the pain is alleviated differently depending on how long you spend casting it. The spell does not heal any amount of HP, doesn’t close wounds nor disinfect them. Its effects are purely for numbing pain.
Headaches, stomach-aches, etc.:
-Action: pain is halved for 10 minutes.
-Minute: Pain mostly dissipates for 10 minutes.
-10 minutes: Pain is halved for an hour.
-Hour: Pain mostly dissipates for the rest of the day. Slowly coming back in the last few hours.
Small scratches, small bruises, etc.: If you spent an action casting Ease pain on a singular wound of such size the ache fully disappears.
Light stab wounds, bigger scratches, bruises, etc.: If you spent a minute casting Ease pain on a singular wound of such size the ache mostly disappears. If not treated using medicine or healing magic the pain will eventually fully come back.
deep stab wounds, broken bones, etc.: If you spent 10 minutes casting Ease pain on a singular wound of such size the ache is halved. If not treated using medicine or healing magic the pain will at the earliest return in an hour.
Mortal wounds: Those who have been casted "Ease pain" on before dying and then brought back using magic describe it as "A calming feeling easing them into eternal rest before dying" although how much this helps differs from the few people who were able to comment on it. Thanks to this the spell is favoured by healers who know that their patients are about to die.

Posted Aug 3, 2024The idea behind this spell is that its cure wounds but on the level of a cantrip to be used purely for RP purposes. For example a character is left with light scratches and you want to heal them without wasting spell slots, a character is dying but youre out of spell slots to heal them so you ease their pain as they die.
