The Killing Curse (Avada Kedavra) was a tool of the Dark Arts and was one of the three Unforgivable Curses. When cast successfully on a living person or creature, the curse caused instantaneous and painless death, without causing any injury to the body, and without any trace of violence. The Killing Curse was accompanied by a blinding flash or jet of green light and a distinctive rushing sound when being cast.

Effect on a miss: The blast misses, but will still affect living creatures or plants behind the target.

Effect on a save: Target takes half the damage and is not paralyzed.

Effect on a failed save: On a failed save, the target must roll a Constitution saving throw or become paralyzed until it rolls a save.
Death's Door - At the end of the targets turns, it must make a Constitution saving throw. After failing three of these saving throws, the target dies instantly.
