Calling upon the divine power of Auril, the Frostmaiden, you cause an explosion of sharp ice and jagged stones to erupt from the ground at a point within range. The spell must be cast on terrain that contains moisture within 3 feet of the surface—such as soil, grasslands, or wetlands. This spell fails if cast on terrain like dry sand or solid rock.
From the targeted point, all subsurface moisture in a 30-foot radius instantly freezes, creating a violent upheaval that forms a mound of earth and ice. Sharp shards of ice and jagged stones are flung outward in all directions, striking every creature in the area. Each creature within the 30-foot radius must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 6d6 cold damage and 6d6 piercing damage. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage.
The area affected by Auril's Flowers becomes difficult terrain, covered in dense rubble and slippery ice. Creatures moving through this area have disadvantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks to maintain balance and must make a DC 15 Dexterity (Stealth) check to move quietly.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the cold and piercing damage each increase by 1d6 for each slot level above 5th.
