You conjure up the essence of the stars on your spellcasting focus and hands, and fire blue beam of astrological energy, 60 ft long and 5 ft wide in the shape of a cylinder. Each creature in the cylinder takes 10d6+10 force damage, or half as much on a successful dexterity saving throw. You can chose not to harm up to 5 creatures in the cylinder, granting them 10 temporary hit points instead.
This spell takes up two turns, the first to concentrate wind up the spell and the second to release it. If you have to make a concentration saving throw during the first round, you make it with disadvantage, on a fail, the spell slot is used up and the spell fails.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage increases by 2d6 and the temporary hit points increase by 5 for each slot level above 5th.
