You swing the bladeless hilt of a longsword at a target you see in range. Make a melee spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 4d8 slashing damage from an invisible spectral blade.
When you attack a creature that has at least one head with this spell and roll a 20 on the attack roll, you cut off one of the creature's heads. The creature dies if it can't survive without the lost head. A creature is immune to this effect if it is immune to slashing damage, doesn't have or need a head, has legendary actions, or the DM decides that the creature is too big for its head to be cut off with this spell. Such a creature instead takes an extra 8d8 slashing damage from the hit.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 5th.
