Posted Sep 4, 2024Not displaying correctly on the character sheet as of 9/3/24
Spell requires a ranged spell attack against the target but doesn't show the attack roll button on the character sheet.

Posted Sep 5, 2024Also confirmed what Woggee said as of 9/4/2024. There is currently no option to actually make the ranged spell attack showing within the character sheet and it doesn't show as an option under the action's tab.

Posted Sep 6, 2024It is strange that clerics and paladins don't get this?

Posted Sep 21, 2024Seems like it would be right up the alley of a Cleric of Light.

Posted Oct 5, 2024I think that's probably Bard, Druid (2014) and Bard, Druid (2024), but it does look weird. Subclasses are normally listed properly like "Circle of Stars" or "Life Domain".

Posted Nov 11, 2024I feel this is more nature themed than divine themed, given it's a tiny star. But I'd definitely consider magic initiate druid as a starting feat for this. Pick up either thorn whip or shillelagh and goodberry/absorb elements and that's a solid kit

Posted Dec 27, 2024Some confusion on this spell. So you don't take immediate damage from the cantrip right? You just get a spotlight cast on them and then another spell has to target them. When they get hit from that ranged spell they take damage from that ranged spell + starry wisp damage.
Am I getting this right?

Posted Jan 6, 2025This spell does 1d8 radiant damage immediately upon a hit. It's right there in the spell description:
Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 Radiant damage...
Are you getting confused about the phrase "make a ranged spell attack"? That's telling you how this spell works; it's not talking about some other spell. This is how every ranged attack spell is worded.

Posted Jan 8, 2025If a target is lit up via a cantrip like this one, would it give the party advantage on attacks against it? I feel like it would. Especially in darker areas.
Also, for some creatures, would think impose disadvantage on their attacks or possibly even blind?

Posted Jan 30, 2025No, being lit up like that doesn't grant advantage on attacks against the target, or impose disadvantage on the target's attacks. If the spell did that, it would say it did (like Faerie Fire does).
However, it can make a target that you couldn't otherwise see visible, which would remove the disadvantage you'd otherwise have on attacking an invisible target.

Posted Sep 15, 2025I'm kind of disappointed Clerics don't get this. Clerics are so deprived of cantrips, notably cantrips that use an attack roll.
