Posted Oct 6, 2024I believe this is still a bug from the old version (which was touch). The 2024 PHB lists it as having a range of 60 ft. (and actually all of the power word spells in the PHB have 60 ft range).

Posted Oct 11, 2024There are some mistake, these are the correct values according to the physical copy of the 2024 PHB
Components:V (not V,S)
Range: 60ft (not Touch)
School: Enchantment (not Evocation)

Posted Dec 18, 2024This restriction has been removed from all healing spells in the 2024 Player's Handbook, probably because it was kinda dumb

Posted Dec 16, 2025Can these types of spells that identify the target as "...one creature you can see within range" be used on yourself? Technically, I can see my own body, and I'm definitely within range if I'm the spell's originator, but not sure if these spells were intended to be used on the caster.

Posted Dec 22, 2025Yes. You're a creature within range and you can see yourself, so you can cast it on yourself. (Perhaps not if you're Invisible.)
There are a few things that don't work this way, but they always say something like "another creature" or "creatures other than you" to make it very clear you can't use them on yourself.
