You create a simulacrum of one Beast or Humanoid that is within 10 feet of you for the entire casting of the spell. You finish the casting by touching both the creature and a pile of ice or snow that is the same size as that creature, and the pile turns into the simulacrum, which is a creature. It uses the game statistics of the original creature at the time of casting, except it is a Construct, its Hit Point maximum is half as much, and it can’t cast this spell.
The simulacrum is Friendly to you and creatures you designate. It obeys your commands and acts on your turn in combat. The simulacrum can’t gain levels, and it can’t take Short or Long Rests.
If the simulacrum takes damage, the only way to restore its Hit Points is to repair it as you take a Long Rest, during which you expend components worth 100 GP per Hit Point restored. The simulacrum must stay within 5 feet of you for the repair.
The simulacrum lasts until it drops to 0 Hit Points, at which point it reverts to snow and melts away. If you cast this spell again, any simulacrum you created with this spell is instantly destroyed.

Posted Oct 29, 2025Alright, so with the new Forgotten Realms circle casting rules, we're going to need to find 30 other people that can expend a 7th level spell slot, and we can cast this spell for free, just like wish!

Just use Wish!
Wish says, Wish is the mightiest spell a mortal can cast. By simply speaking aloud, you can alter reality itself. The basic use of this spell is to duplicate any other spell of level 8 or lower. If you use it this way, you don’t need to meet any requirements to cast that spell, including costly components. The spell simply takes effect. That's not casting Simulacrum, that's casting Wish with the effects of Simulacrum, and each simulacrum can do the same. Voila, infinite simulacrums and an army of you. Do what you wish with them

Posted Nov 10, 2025For an in depth explanation, the spell Simulacrum says this,
You create a simulacrum of one Beast or Humanoid that is within 10 feet of you for the entire casting of the spell.

The simulacrum lasts until it drops to 0 Hit Points, at which point it reverts to snow and melts away. If you cast this spell again, any simulacrum you created with this spell is instantly destroyed.
Now the spell says If you cast this spell again, any simulacrum you created with this spell is instantly destroyed, but if the simulacrum casts the spell, then its fine!
Oh, what's that you say. Oh fine, It uses the game statistics of the original creature at the time of casting, except it is a Construct, its Hit Point maximum is half as much, and it can’t cast this spell. This changes nothing. Just use Wish!

Posted Nov 14, 2025Please correct me if I’m wrong, but the scenario below isn’t possible, right?
You are a high-level sorcerer.
You use wish to replicate the effect of simulacrum and create a copy of yourself.
You command the copy to cast wish so that you avoid the 33% chance of never being able to cast it again.
This scenario fails because of the rule: ‘It uses the game statistics of the original creature at the time of casting.’
And at the time of casting, your 9th-level spell slot is already gone. 🙂
