Posted Apr 1, 2025This spell hasn't changed in 2024, so it's still as good as it was before.
Jump did get a significant improvement that makes it generally more useful than it was. This spell still has the advantages of working on kinds of movement other than jumping, and lasting a lot longer.

Posted May 23, 2026How would this work with Boots of Speed? Add ten and then double total, or double base and add 10?

Posted May 26, 2026Since both are active effects that you have to use some kind of action to turn on, it will depend on what order you activate them in.
So, assuming a base Speed of 30 feet, if you cast this spell first, your Speed increases to 40 feet. Then you activate your Boots of Speed, which doubles your Speed to 80 feet.
If you activate the boots first, they double your base Speed to 60 feet. Then casting the spell would add 10 feet to increase your Speed to 70 feet.

Posted Jul 23, 2026Which makes it awesome for my Wood Elf Monk with a base speed of 50. Longstrider followed by Boots of Speed for a speed of 120. Which is about 13.5 MPH. And I can Move, Action-Dash, Bonus Action-Step of the Wind to move 260 feet in one combat turn. Or move 50 feet up to an opponent, hit them, Bonus Action Disengage and move 50+ feet away so they can't even attempt to hit me.

Posted Jul 23, 2026It's even better than that; dashing twice like that would give you a total of 360 feet of movement that turn, not 260.
