Posted Sep 23, 2024The way this spell is worded, you can find creatures who are hiding without needing to take the Search action to look for them if they're in your line of sight.

Posted Oct 21, 2024Comparing this to the 2014 version, we discover that powdered silver was never a necessary component. It simply caused creatures and objects to appear translucent. I'd like to thank the Order of the Many-Starred Cloak for this important discovery.

Posted Apr 11, 2025Not just you but the entire party. Hide says you lose the invisible condition if an enemy finds you.

Posted Oct 10, 2025See Invisibility doesn't reveal the location of hidden creatures, it just allows you to see creatures with the invisible condition as if they were visible. It does not take away a creature's invisible condition.
The Hide action can only be taken while a creature is heavily obscured, behind 3/4 cover, or total cover and out of an enemy's line of sight (unless it's from a special item/feature).
So, even with See Invisibility, you would still need line of sight to actually see the hidden creature, just as you would anyone who is heavily obscured or behind full cover and doesn't take the Hide action (as See Invisibility doesn't allow you to see through walls/items/fog/etc).
What this means, is that if a creature hides, they have the invisible condition and their location is unknown to you. Even if you cast See Invisibility, if they are still heavily obscured or behind full cover, they don't automatically lose the invisible condition. The hidden creature stays hidden until you find them by either moving into direct line of sight with them, breaking their cover, they are no longer heavily obscured, or if you make a Perception check and beat their Stealth check.
