You create a 20-foot-radius Sphere of yellow, nauseating gas centered on a point within range. The cloud is Heavily Obscured. The cloud lingers in the air for the duration or until a strong wind (such as the one created by Gust of Wind) disperses it.
Each creature that starts its turn in the Sphere must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or have the Poisoned condition until the end of the current turn. While Poisoned in this way, the creature can’t take an action or a Bonus Action.

Posted Sep 25, 2026Tons of spells target con saves. You’d be rendering them all completely useless if you did that. You’d be nerfing lots of spells just so you could nerf a single spell that doesn’t even need to be nerfed. Stinking Cloud essentially just takes the monsters out of commission for a single turn if they fail a con save (which tons of monsters are already good at). They can always just move out of the area of effect to avoid being poisoned for a second round. They aren’t even effective if they just move through the cloud.
