You touch a creature that has been dead for no longer than 200 years and that died for any reason except old age. The creature is revived with all its Hit Points.
This spell closes all wounds, neutralizes any poison, cures all magical contagions, and lifts any curses affecting the creature when it died. The spell replaces damaged or missing organs and limbs. If the creature was Undead, it is restored to its non-Undead form.
The spell can provide a new body if the original no longer exists, in which case you must speak the creature’s name. The creature then appears in an unoccupied space you choose within 10 feet of you.

Posted Sep 23, 2024I'm guessing that, against any Lich, this would be disastrous since they would be changed into their pre-lich form, thereby making them a little easier to kill.

Posted Oct 26, 2024Lich is not dead :)
And even if that would apply, you would still have to pacify him for an hour of casting the spell, ending with a melee spell touch to hit him.

Posted Oct 27, 2024you may be right regarding dead vs undead (I'm an osr player and raise dead used to "kill" undead), but I've never heard anything about pacification being needed. Please explain.

Posted Oct 28, 2024The spell has a casting time of one hour - lich would not voluntarily wait for you to do that. Or wait for your hour of casting to be prepared to be touched exactly as you finish the casting.

Posted Jan 20, 2025Yeah, using a Level 9 spell with a casting time of 1 hour to make things a little easier is probably not a good choice.

Posted Feb 7, 2025It says you touch a creature but then later it says the spell can provide a new body if the original no longer exists. if the body no longer exists how do you touch the creature? ash? body goo?

Posted Feb 11, 2025In that case, you don't touch the creature; you speak the creature's name, as the spell says.

Posted Jun 12, 2025This says for any reason, somewhere else it says that a soul given to a devil can only be freed with divine intervention or a Wish spell. Which one is right?

Posted Jun 16, 2025This isn't divine intervention or a Wish spell, so you can't use it to resurrect someone who can only be resurrected through divine intervention or a Wish spell.

Posted Oct 9, 2025This, and "Detect Poison and Disease," are the only spells that interact with Magical Contagions directly; you'd think you'd see more interaction somewhere in the game (between spells/class/subclass features) beyond that, lol.

Posted Jan 5, 2026Moreover, as per the rules regarding the Dead condition, the target of any attempted resurrection can simply refuse.

Posted Sep 10, 2026So, given that any Bard, with their Level 10 standard class feature, Magical Secrets, can also learn and use this spell, how does that even work, thematically? We already know that it's standard that they can sing loud enough to wake the dead, hence their getting Raise Dead as a 5th level spell on their own spell list, but what does that mean for their ability to cast this spell? That in the eight levels between learning Raise Dead and being able to learn this spell, that they've learned how to sing really, really, loudly?

Posted Sep 28, 2026Hi, guys, this is how my girlfriend and I became vampires. I was searching for how to become a real vampire, and I came across some testimonies about Mr. Vincent the vampire lord, and how he transformed people into a vampire, I took his email and told him that my Girlfriend and I would love to become a vampire, he asked me to pay the sum of $750 for the both of us to send me his blood which I did immediately and in the next 3 days I got the blood sample through the FedEx Shipping company which my Girlfriend and I drank the blood and in the next 15 minutes we turned into a vampire, it's so amazing to feel stronger and I was healed of cancer immediately. If you want to become a powerful vampire like us, you are in the right place.
contact Mr. Vincent, the vampire lord: vampirelordcenter@gmail.com
I want to tell you guys that vampires are not like in the movies or books. I understand. You are young; you have the whole world open to you. You can be anything that you choose if you apply yourself and try hard to work towards that goal. But being a vampire is not what it seems. It’s a life full of good and amazing things. We are as human as you are. It’s not what you are that counts, but how you choose to be. Do you want a life full of interesting things? Do you want to have power and influence over others? To be charming and desirable? To have wealth, health, and longevity.
