Control puppet

Before casting the spell you must create a puppet that is a non-expendeable material component for the cast.

You imbue a puppet you used as a material component with the spirit of a creature of challenge rating 4 or lower. It appears in an unoccupied space that you can see within range. The fey puppet breaks when it drops to 0 hit points and requiers a long rest during which you fix it. When the spell ends, the puppet loses its statistics and becomes a mundane object.

The puppet is friendly to you and your companions for the duration. You do not roll initiative for the creature, which has its turn on your own. In order for the puppet to take an action you must spend an action, move action, bonus action or reaction for it to use action, move action, bonus action or reaction respectively. If you don't issue any commands to the fey creature, it defends itself from hostile creatures but otherwise takes no actions.

If your concentration is broken, the fey creature doesn't disappear. Instead, you lose control of the puppet, and must spend an action in order to restore the magical threads you control it with. After the connection is restored, you can control it once again.

Instead of animating a single puppet you can animate two puppets with half-cr (rounded down) instead. Once you use this feature, you can animate them by one, but all of the rolls you do you do with disadvantage, or the target of your spells has advantage on the save throws. If you move only one puppet you can move with only half of your speed.

The stats of the puppet are the same as of any creature of the same CR or lower, but it cannot has any legendary or liar actions.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the challenge rating increases by 1 for each slot level above 3rd.
