Briar Leash

Channeling primal power, you nurture a flower and create a large thorny vine with flower buds along the length. As a part of the same action, you make a melee spell attack against a creature within 15 feet.  On a hit, the target takes 1d8 bludgeoning damage and 1d8 piercing damage. On subsequent turns, you can use your action to repeat the attack. The spell ends when you drop the whip or lose concentration, causing the vine to wither and leave behind a flower.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the piercing damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
