Black Blade

You conjure a blade of pure shadow and hurl it at a target within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 force damage. If the target is in an area of pitch-black darkness (either due to magical or non-magical means), the blade absorbs the surrounding darkness and deals an additional 1d4 force damage.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage (including the additional damage in darkness) increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
