Blueberry Muffin

Your touch inflicts a unique pestilence resembling a delicious baked good. When you touch a creature within your reach it must make a Constitution Saving Throw. On a successful save, the target takes 3d8 necrotic damage and is otherwise unaffected.

On a failed save, the target takes 3d8 necrotic damage and is paralyzed. Its body shifts into the form of a blueberry muffin of a size equivalent to its original form. Its skin forms 5 large, engorged, purple pustules. Its AC is reduced to 12, but it gains 5 temporary hit points for each pustule it forms from this spell. Each subsequent attack against the muffin creature that deals damage, ruptures one of the pustules, causing an additional 2d8 necrotic damage to the creature. If the rupture is caused by a melee attack, that attacker  and any creature within 10 feet of the muffin must succeed on a Dexterity Saving Throw (DC 12), otherwise, take 2d8 necrotic damage.

At the end of each of its turns, the muffin creature can make another Constitution Saving Throw at disadvantage against the original caster's spell save DC. On a successful save, or after the final pustule has been ruptured, the spell ends and the creature returns to its original form. If the creature is brought to zero hit points while still in muffin form, it dies and its body crumbles away and disintegrates, and the spell ends.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the initial damage to the target increases by 2d8, the pustule count increases by one and the damage taken by the creature for each ruptured pustule increases by 1d8 for each spell slot above 5th level.
