Posted Sep 21, 2024Steel Wind Strike is one of my favorite spells in the game because it gives Rangers and Wizards the ability to do a really cool melee attack that sounds like it's straight out of an anime without needing to completely invest into weapon damage. I also really like the fantasy of a melee War Magic Wizard who actually uses melee spells with their weapon.
So I made this. It's supposed to basically be a low level version of Steel Wind Strike. It's probably not going to out-damage good ol Fireball, but it should fulfill the same fantasy Steel Wind Strike does without being too problematic.
I made it benefit from magic weapons to build on the idea that while the damage you do is because of magic, the spell involves using a weapon to do that damage. So the spell should improve when you're using a better weapon.
