Description:
Chrono Stasis allows you to temporarily remove a creature or object from the flow of time itself. The affected target becomes frozen in a moment, completely removed from the present timeline and held in stasis, immune to all effects until they are released. This spell can be used tactically to save an ally, delay an enemy, or preserve an important object or moment.

You choose one creature or object within range and place them in a chronal stasis. The target becomes completely immobile, invulnerable, and untouchable—frozen in time. While in stasis, the target cannot take any actions, reactions, or interact with anything in the present. However, when the spell ends or the caster releases them, they re-enter the timeline at the exact moment they left, as if no time had passed for them.

Effects of Chrono Stasis:

  1. Temporal Suspension:
The target is suspended in time and effectively removed from reality for the duration of the spell. While in this state, the following applies:

    • They cannot be damaged, moved, or affected in any way (including by spells, environmental effects, or physical attacks).
    • Time does not pass for the target; they do not age or suffer ongoing effects while suspended.
    • The target cannot perceive the outside world, as they are stuck in a moment frozen in time.
  2. Tactical Release:
You may end the stasis effect at any time during the spell's duration, choosing when to return the target to the timeline. When the target reappears, they return to the exact state they were in when they were placed in stasis (same hit points, same position, etc.).

  3. Delayed Harm:
If you cast Chrono Stasis on an enemy and release them after your allies have taken a series of actions or after certain effects have been triggered, the enemy may find themselves surrounded or in a tactically compromised position. However, the target gets a Wisdom saving throw when they are initially targeted by this spell. On a successful save, the creature resists the temporal suspension and the spell fails.

  4. Stasis Object:
This spell can also be used on objects, allowing you to freeze an item of up to 500 pounds in weight. An item in stasis is completely preserved, preventing it from being damaged, decaying, or affected by time. This can be useful for preserving artifacts, halting magical effects, or protecting critical items from destruction.

Additional Features:

  • Chrono Surge:
If you end the spell early as a bonus action, you can choose to give a creature an extra turn immediately after they exit stasis. They can take one action, one bonus action, and move their full speed before the current turn order resumes. This ability can only be used on allies.

  • Temporal Aftershock:
If a hostile creature is released from stasis prematurely (before the spell naturally ends), they suffer temporal aftershock, taking 5d8 force damage as time forcibly pulls them back into the present.
