You create a magical token in your hand. This token has a unique magic signature based on the person who cast or based on a specific token that you have permission to create from the original owner. For example: a warlock would be able to make the token for their own signature or the signature for the patron and maybe the token for a powerful diplomat they helped out previously.

You can give this token to another creature, the token is then magically engraved into the creatures soul which they can speak a command phrase, that they choose on acquiring the token, to retrieve the token allowing it to appear. When doing so the creature can willingly give the token to a new creature if the original caster did not prevent them from doing so.

These tokens can serve any number of purposes that the original caster determines. These can be used as keys to magical locks, identification, or as a form of currency for predetermined trades, or even as a show of owing favors (a very common use among powerful beings like fey). The original caster of the token can decide whether the token disappears after it has been used or if it can stay around to be used multiple times. When a deal is made using these tokens their magic enforces these deals. When a creature attempts to go against a deal they made willingly the creature takes half their current health points in unreducible damage rounded up and the token is destroyed.
