You cause a medium-sized or smaller tool or device within range to magically animate according to its nature. For example, a lumberjack’s saw may be set to cut a stationary tree or log, a lever may be thrown, a button pushed, or crank turned, a spinning wheel may begin turning, or a bellows may begin blowing. You may stop or start the object’s movement at will as long as you can see it. This spell ends if you cast it again.
No device animated by this spell can make an attack or damage another creature except inadvertently or if the creature is restrained. The animation is always repetitive - for example, a broom animated to sweep will simply sweep the same spot on the floor indefinitely. There is no guiding force to direct its movement to another location or to gather its sweepings in a pile.
Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot. You can animate one additional device or a device one size larger for each spell slot level above 1st.
