Description:
You touch a willing creature, imbuing them with the essence of a chromatic dragon. The target willingly undergoes a transformation based on their level, gaining the form and powers of a chromatic dragon:
- Level 10 or lower: Transforms into a Wyrmling.
- Level 11 or higher: Transforms into a Young Dragon.
Dragon Type Rotation:
At the start of each of their turns, the creature randomly cycles through one of the five chromatic dragon types. Each dragon form grants unique resistances and breath weapon abilities, which can be used once per transformation:
- Red Dragon: Fire resistance; Fire Breath (15 ft. cone, 4d6 fire damage, Dex save).
- Blue Dragon: Lightning resistance; Lightning Breath (30 ft. line, 3d8 lightning damage, Dex save).
- Green Dragon: Poison resistance; Poison Breath (15 ft. cone, 3d6 poison damage, Con save).
- Black Dragon: Acid resistance; Acid Breath (30 ft. line, 3d8 acid damage, Dex save).
- White Dragon: Cold resistance; Cold Breath (15 ft. cone, 3d6 cold damage, Con save).
Physical Changes:
- The target’s Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores become those of a Wyrmling or Young Dragondepending on their level.
- Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma remain unchanged.
- The creature cannot cast spells, use weapons, or manipulate items while in dragon form, as they no longer have hands.
Additional Benefits:
- The target gains darkvision out to 60 feet.
- Advantage on saving throws against being frightened.
- The target’s size increases to Large for a Wyrmling and Huge for a Young Dragon.
End of the Spell:
The transformation ends if the creature drops to 0 hit points or if you lose concentration. Upon reverting to their original form, the creature regains hit points equal to half the damage taken while in dragon form.
At Higher Levels:
When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the duration increases by 1 minute for each slot level above 6th.
Spell Save DC:
8 + your proficiency bonus + your spellcasting ability modifier.
Changes Recap:
- Wyrmling or Young Dragon Forms Only: The form is scaled by level, with Wyrmling for lower-level characters and Young Dragon for higher-level ones. This ensures the spell doesn’t become overpowered but still provides a significant boost.
- Resistances and Breath Weapons: The damage of the breath weapons is balanced, and each form grants an elemental resistance.
- Physical and Gameplay Restrictions: Since they can’t use items or cast spells during the transformation, the target is limited to the dragon’s abilities, making this a strategic decision.
- Duration and Scaling: It fits well for a 6th-level spell by limiting the form's power and ensuring the breath weapons can only be used once per
