Wraithbound Servant
2nd-level Necromancy
- Casting Time: 1 action
- Range: 30 feet
- Components: V, S, M (a shard of bone and a pinch of graveyard dirt)
- Duration: 10 minutes
Description:
You call forth the fading spirit of a creature that has recently perished, temporarily binding it to your service as a Wraithbound Servant. Choose a Small or Medium humanoid creature within range that has died within the last minute. The creature rises as a translucent, ghostly version of itself with limited power and a faint connection to the mortal plane. It retains some of its abilities but is much weaker than in life.
The Wraithbound Servant has hit points equal to a quarter of its original maximum, its AC is reduced by 2, and it cannot cast spells or use class-based abilities. It becomes a neutral undead, gaining resistance to necrotic and cold damage and vulnerability to radiant damage.
The Wraithbound Servant obeys your verbal commands (no action required by you) and fights on your behalf. It rolls its own initiative in combat, and if no commands are given, it takes the Dodge action. When the spell ends, or when the servant drops to 0 hit points, its spirit fades into nothingness, and the creature’s body becomes unrevivable by spells such as Revivify, though more powerful magic like Resurrection can still work.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the servant's hit points increase by 5 for each slot level above 2nd.
