Buffering Ward

Your faith coalesces around an ally, surrounding them with a protective ward.  The incoming damage against the creature is reduced by 3d10.  If your roll exceeds the damage dealt, the creature gains temporary hit points equal to the remaining number.  Those temporary hit points last for up to one minute.

At higher levels: When you cast this spell with a 4th level spell slot or higher, the damage is reduced by an additional 1d10 per spell slot above 3rd.
